THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10th

PICTURES AND REPORTS WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS 132 Students and 15 adults walked into school yesterday morning. The Travelers and Team Triumph had the greatest numbers of walkers. Nice work!  October is still a nice weather month. Consequently, we would like to see our numbers increase on the Walking Wednesday routes and on the daily student-led routes, over the coming weeks. In the past we have often had 200 or more walkers in October.  Consider stepping out and joining your peers for this great way to get to school. The Travelers FIRE DRILL 10-9-2019 Everyone stepped quietly out of the school buildings on Wednesday afternoon when the fire drill occurred.  Students and staff lined up on the athletic fields until everyone was accounted for. The drill went smoothly. DRAIN PIPE REPAIRS A 50-year-old drainpipe on the lower soccer field "blew out" with the recent hard rains we experienced. Mr. Pelkey reported water squirting up through the soil like a spouting geyser. Heavy equipment was brought in to replace the failing pipe and facilitate water flow from our parking lots and roofs into appropriate drainage areas. 10-9-2019. FAIRFAX COSTUME RACE The cross country runners from St. Albans City School traveled to Fairfax for a really fun costume race. The middle school boys and girls ran together in one giant wave of athletes. Later on the high schoolers participated in a costume relay race. The course was extremely muddy and hilly. Runners had to take great care crossing the slick wooden bridges along the trails. There were some stand out performances among our runners.  LINK TO 100 PICTURES TWINS
