THE ST. ALBANS CITY SCHOOL 50TH CELEBRATION CONTINUES INTO 2020
Over the next several weeks, the daily announcements will include pictures from 1970 and a similar picture that was taken 50 years later in 2020. These pictures are also posted on the wall outside the big gym. Can you see anything that is the same 50 years later?

CHEER CHALLENGE AT COLLINS PERLEY

Ms. Rouleau took pictures of some of our students performing last Friday evening at Collins Perley. Check out these pictures of their inspiring performances.  LINK TO 72 PICTURES

DREAMERS
Students in Ms. Williams' classroom made pictures of themselves with arms linked to show they were able to work together for MLK day.

BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS
On Monday, January 20th a number of jobs took place that cannot be accomplished when students and teachers are present.

The boilers that heat the building were overhauled. Several of the cast iron water heating segments in the boilers were leaking. These were replaced with new units that have been redesigned to last longer.

There was installation of cameras in hallways and public spaces.

Mr. Pelkey worked on the lobby door closing systems. These doors get very heavy use and need regular maintenance for security and functional purposes.

Other staff members checked every room to make sure the public address system was working properly. Regular building cleaning took place as well.

DREAMERS IN A STEAM LESSON
Ms. Borst visited Ms. Williams' students and brought with her programmable Bee Bots. These little robots are excellent at introducing the concept of coding to young students. The bots can be programmed by the students to follow desired patterns of movement.  LINK TO 7 PICTURES

Our snowshoes are currently located in tubs in the Investigators' hallway.
