PICTURES INVESTIGATORS - BOUDREAU Ms. Boudreau’s students studied a sample of high quality writing to learn how vivid mental imagery can be created with well-selected word choices. They underlined their observations, discussed their findings and contemplated how they too could write effectively. Link to 33 Pictures. TRAVELERS - PAC - Effective movement game. 11-19-2020 After completing personal narrative writing work on their Chromebooks, these students participated in a very active movement game. The goal was to get them warmed up and excited about going outside for recess in wintery conditions. It worked. Students imitated Mr. Pac’s movements in a game he called “Stand, sit, cowboy”. He called out rapid-fire movements that had his students standing, sitting, flipping their chairs around and sitting cowboy style in random patterns. Along the way he threw in lassoing, yoga and saluting movements - indeed anything he could think of to spice things up. The students were eager to do it and most everyone was a bit sweaty when they finished. Finally, everyone dressed for the outdoors and headed to the fields for recess. The results between students are quite different and beautiful. 11-17-2020 TRIUMPH - JARVIS Ms. Jarvis’ 4th Grade Triumph students played a vigorous tag game of Sharks and Minnows using foam noodles to tag each other. She reported that the cold blustery weather did not slow them down! 11-17-2020 Link to 5 Pictures IMAGINATION - KOLDYS The playground is again a place to play for they younger age groups with logical restrictions. Consequently, there were fewer kids playing on the equipment than in non-covid times when these photos were taken. There was still joy in the opportunity. 11-19-2020 Link to 20 pictures RENAISSANCE - BRANON Mr. Branon organized pairs from team Renaissance to compete for who could cross the lower soccer field with the fewest number of throws and catches. If the partner failed to catch the frisbee, the team had to start over. 11-17-2020. Link to 15 Pictures |
