8TH GRADER BABY PICTURES WANTED The yearbook committee would like 8th graders to submit baby pictures for the yearbook. It is best if you provide digital copies of your pictures to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org. If you need to bring in the original image for scanning, you can give it to your 7/8-grade teacher who will pass it on to Mr. Craib. The picture will be scanned as soon as it is received and immediately returned safely to the student. Thank you. |
PICTURES FOR THURSDAY IMAGINATION 1ST GRADE - POWER OF KINDNESS - K. TURPEN Kate, one of our School Counselors, has been visiting Imagination 1st grade and teaching the students that they all have a very special set of superpowers. They have discovered their first superpower of friendly wishes that allows all who hear the wishes to feel at peace. Their second discovery was the power of gratitude which allows them to express thanks and love. Today, they were discovering the power of kindness! These first graders are shaping up to be the positivity superheroes that St. Albans has been waiting for! Link to 27 Pictures of the students listening to Kate and coloring kindness pages. Link to 20 Pictures of students' finished coloring work. OUTSIDE TIME Midday Tuesday was a gloriously warm time period. It was pleasant to simply be outside or to be a part of planned activities. INCREDIBLES PE - JARVIS Students from the Incredibles team were photographed playing a vigorous tag game followed by a dodgeball game on the outdoor basketball court. 12-1-2020 Link to 13 Pictures KINDERGARTEN REMOTE LEARNING STEAM BAGS Ms. Rankin enjoys teaching our youngest students science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (STEAM). She does so using all kinds of creative games and supplies. Ms. Rankins goal is to use these tools to guide student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking while having fun. Her teaching mission is easier to accomplish at school where she has access to teaching supplies and aids. Those kindergarteners in remote learning settings may not have exactly what they need for STEAM learning with Ms. Rankin. Therefore, she decided to assemble shopping bags stocked with simple supplies helpful for creativity and learning. These were sent home to families. For example, one bag contained popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and a plastic spoon to create a small launching apparatus. Ms. Rankin will guide the remote learning kindergartners through individual lessons based upon the contents of each paper bag. |
