Yesterday (Monday 12-7-2020) you were left a video message from Detective Botley Blockly. You can rewatch the video by clicking Here.

Below are your orders.

Watch the video instructions and use your coding and programming skills to move through a map to figure out where The Rankin Bot 3000 has hidden Mrs. Rankin’s Beebot.

Video Instructions

Click on the Gameboard below and make a copy of the slidedeck to get your own interactive game board.

Click on the Green Start Flag for a Reminder of the first clue left on Mrs. Rankin’s desk.

Good luck and make sure to email Mrs. Rankin (drankin@maplerun.org) and Detective Botley Blockly (gborst@maplerun.org) with the location of the missing Beebot! We would also love to see any pictures and video evidence of your work!

TEAM USA SUPPORTING LOCAL VETERAN EVENTS

Team USA students have been helping our local American Legion and VFW with a couple of projects. Students have the opportunity to work on their citizenship and communication skills while completing this work.

Flag Removal and Retirement -  Recently students took a walk through Mt. Calvary Cemetery and removed all of the American flags.  There were 515 flags collected!  Students then had to prepare the flags from all of our local cemeteries for a proper retirement ceremony that will be held in the spring.  Team USA will be happy to collect any American flags and make sure they are properly retired.

Wreaths Across America - December 18, 10am - Mt. Calvary Cemetery  - Students will be placing wreaths on veterans' graves and take part in a small ceremony with our local veteran organizations.  This will include a color guard and a 21 gun salute to honor our deceased veterans.  Students will have an opportunity to share messages remembering and thanking our veterans.

RENAISSANCE & USA ART - MARTINSON

The green groups of 8th graders worked on neurographic line and watercolor art in Ms. Martinson’s classrooms. They had to draw flowing lines with their non-dominant hand and then use a black sharpie pen to darken those lines. These steps were followed by adding watercolor paints into the spaces between the lines. Link to 12 pictures of Renaissance students drawing and painting.   Link to 14 pictures of USA students doing the same kind of work.

Here are samples of completed or in-progress neurographic art work from both Renaissance and USA students

USA DRUMMING - KELLY

These students were photographed while performing on video camera for their e-portfolios. Thanks to lots of practice and talent they drummed excellently. 12-7-2020. Link to 14 Pictures.

8TH GRADER BABY PICTURES WANTED

The yearbook committee would like 8th graders to submit baby pictures for the yearbook. It is best if you provide digital copies of your pictures to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org. If you need to bring in the original image for scanning, you can give it to your 7/8-grade teacher who will pass it on to Mr. Craib. The picture will be scanned as soon as it is received and immediately returned safely to the student.

Thank you.
