MRUSD DR. JOELLE VAN LENT FAMILY PRESENTATION   March 16, 2021 6:00pm  There is hope on the horizon and yet we remain very much in the midst of coping with the stress of the pandemic. Join us for a conversation with Dr. Joelle van Lent focused on the well-being of our children and ourselves as we continue to navigate this unique school year. Joelle will offer insights and strategies related to coping with ambiguous loss, rebalancing routines, and self-compassion. PICTURES RENAISSANCE MATH CHALLENGE - PI DAY Students in 7th and 8th grade were challenged to memorize as many digits of Pi as possible. The 7th grader that reached the highest number got to throw a cream pie at Mr. Lovelace’s face. The 8th grader with the highest number got to throw a pie at Mr. Jetter’s Face. TWINS AND TRIPLETS We have not seen many people in the announcements this year wearing similar clothing. OPEN DOORS SESSION THREE Open Doors Session 3 starts Monday, March 15th.  If your student did not receive an acceptance email, they have been added to the waitlist until the next spot is available for them. The Open Doors group locations are as follows: Lego's!: cafeteria Kitchen Experiments: kitchen (Mrs. Lamb's room) Minecraft: Library Kids in Print: Library Ping Ping: A212 Outdoor Games: Small gym/Outside Teachers, please walk your students to their class location, if needed, at the second dismissal- pick-ups. At dismissal of the actual program (4 pm), there will be a stagger release at the following locations: Lego's!: Bus loop Kitchen Experiments: Front door Minecraft: Front door Kids in Print: Front door Ping Ping: Front Door Outdoor Games: Bus loop 7/8 midday has one more week of basketball and social games.

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL We are starting to get a count of students interested in playing baseball and softball this season. Both sports will be offered to 5th-8th graders after the April break.
