 ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR MONDAY, JUNE 14th

IMPORTANT DATES


JUNE


Last Full Day of School

Monday, June 14th.


Outdoor Open House: for students and families that are stepping up or moving back from Virtual Academy.  Monday, June 14th. 5:00 - 6:00 PM


Step-Up Day: for students that are stepping up to a new Learning Community (into grades K, 1, 4, 7) or returning from Virtual Academy.

Tuesday, June 15th. Start time as normal. Buses leave school at 10:15 AM to bring students home and pick-ups will be from 10:20 - 10:30 AM.


Inservice Day for Teachers and Staff

Wednesday, June 16th.


MRUSD Board Meeting

Wednesday, 16th. 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Zoom Meeting link at https://www.maplerun.org/o/mrusd/events when available.


June 15 - Half Day of School/Step-Up Day.

TEAM USA 7th GRADERS FINANCIAL LITERACY - CIOFFI

7th Grade students from Team USA are spending the last few weeks working on financial literacy skills. Thursday's work included a competition while exploring the federal government's budget. Students learned about the budget categories and how our tax dollars are spent. Link to 7 Pictures.






DISCOVERY STUDENTS CONSIDERED PLAYING IN THE ORCHESTRA 

Here are some photos from Mr. Charpentier’s orchestra instrument demonstration with Team Discovery. Mr. Charpentier has a home base at Town School but travels to all the elementary/middle schools in the district for instruction. At various times in years past, our orchestra students perform at St. Albans City School and also join students from the rest of the district for incredible performances in our state and elsewhere. 6-10-2021





UNDEFEATED ST. ALBANS CITY SCHOOL SOFT BALL TEAM

Mrs. Smith, our former Farm to School Coordinator and parent of three students who attended our school, shared photos of the winning team. Link to the end-of-season team picture. Many of the students are now vaccinated.

DISCOVERY SPIRIT WEEK - BROWN

Discovery has been doing their own Spirit Week to celebrate the end of the school year. Thursday was dubbed “Wild & Wacky Patterns Day” - all things colorful, tie-dyed, bright and zany! Here are a few standout representatives. 6-10-2021.  Link to 4 Pictures.

1st GRADE INVESTIGATORS FANCY DANCE

As mentioned in previous announcements, our young students in 1st and 2nd grade had a chance to experience a Fancy Dance within their pod. The annual Fancy Dance is brought to life each year by the assistant principal, Stacie Rouleau, principal, Joan Cavallo, and various support staff. It is a way for young students to have a special celebration for this stage of their lives.  Link to the 13 Pictures.  Students washed their hands before and after the dance.





TRAVELERS FUN ACTIVITIES - LEWIS

Students in Mr. Lewis’ class got messy with shaving cream. They also got serious while having fun building structures with spaghetti and tiny marshmallows. 6-10-2021.  Link to 8 Pictures.

To update, let us know by calling the school at 802-527-0565 and we will send you a new verification form. Please remember to sign the form so that we can make the change in our system. At our Open House on June 14th, we will be available to print verification forms so that updates can be made before this school year ends to ensure that you get all of the information on summer programs, summer meals, and the new school year!
