PICTURES Despite the snow day postponement, Discovery concluded their Olympics STEAM Eventing with a hockey challenge. Given a standard set of materials, teams had to construct a goal and net, hockey sticks, and a puck. Their objectives were to make a net that would stop the puck and shoot accurately. The teams who made the most shots out of twelve competed against the other homeroom champions. One team even used excess materials to create a team mascot (pictured). Stay tuned: the final medal ceremony will be held on Friday! LINK to more pictures of this exciting event
Enjoying the Snow: The 7th and 8th grade teams enjoy time on the snow tubes while Investigators play in the fresh snow. |

STOP BY THE LIBRARY TO EXPLORE THE FOLLOWING BOOKS. March is Women's History Month – commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in history. Take a look at the collection of books that you can find in our library. When you stop by to check out these books, don’t forget to collaborate with us on the new sticker board that will highlight an important figure in women’s history…let’s uncover it together! Rosie may seem quiet during the day, but at night she's a brilliant inventor of gizmos and gadgets who dreams of becoming a great engineer. When her great-great-aunt Rose (Rosie the Riveter) comes for a visit and mentions her one unfinished goal—to fly—Rosie sets to work building a contraption to make her aunt's dream come true. But when her contraption doesn't fly but rather hovers for a moment and then crashes, Rosie deems the invention a failure. On the contrary, Aunt Rose insists that Rosie's contraption was a raging success. You can only truly fail, she explains, if you quit.
