COMMUNITY SERVICE CAMP

Thursday was our final day baking for Martha’s Kitchen. This was the most we had baked all week. We made brownies, oatmeal, sugar and chocolate chip cookies, blueberry, banana nut and very berry muffins. The kids also did more inspirational cards that are handed out at Martha’s kitchen. Next week we start our no sew blankets for the human society. 7-21-2022 Link to 6 Pictures.

READERS OF THE PACK

Campers read “Enemy Pie” by Derek Munson, then made friendship pie!  They also made enemy pie for our snack!

CHICKENS, GARDENS, & BIKES

Here are a few pictures from Thursday, July 21st. Campers are shown walking through the school woods, tending to chickens, getting ready to water plants, and marveling at a large moth.  Link to 12 Pictures.

SOCCER CAMP

The players stretched, warmed up with a half a loop of the walking path, and then settled into a good game of capture the flag (ball). Link to 28 Pictures.

INDOOR/OUTDOOR GAMES

A good chunk of Thursdays activities took place indoors due the high outdoor heat and humidity. This camp assembled some entertaining indoor games like corn hole and bean bag tic-tac-toe. Link to 7 Pictures. 7-21-2022

OCEAN/UNDER THE SEA CAMP AT THE ECHO CENTER

The campers clearly had a blast at the Echo Center in Burlington as you see from these pictures provided by Ms. Lawyer and Ms. Asato-Ditch. Link to 129 Pictures.

OCEAN/UNDER THE SEA CAMP

Here are some photos of the K-1 campers painting and enjoying two fun interactive snacks! 7-21-2022.  Link to 29 Pictures.

GROSSOLOGY

On Thursday, campers had a lot of fun making elephant’s toothpaste and dissecting ‘brains’.  Link to 19 Pictures. 7-21-2022

HIKING AND EXPLORATION CAMP

They were only at the Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge for a short time because it was super buggy and a storm appeared not long after they arrived. However, on their brief walk the kids saw a frog, snake, a rabbit, a butterfly, and they heard a bull frog.  Link to 14 Pictures.

FIRE HYDRANT REPLACEMENT

Regular maintenance and an occasional replacement of equipment is a necessity with our 52 year-old school. It was discovered that the valves of fire hydrant near the bus circle were rusting out. The city sent staff to replace the hydrant on Thursday. The gardening campers nearby were fascinated with the replacement process. 7-21-2022
