TRIUMPH 5TH GRADE & EXPLORERS 1ST GRADE READING BUDDIES - DRAPER & FORSYTH

The students from the two classroom groups gather in small clusters throughout the library for read-aloud sessions. It was a chance for the 5th graders to showcase and practice their reading skills with their younger peers. Link to 21 Photos.

TRIUMPH FRUIT TREE PRUNING LESSON

Jacob Holzberg-Pill, also known as Mr. HP by students, spent an hour with team Triumph teaching them the basics of fruit tree pruning. St. Albans City School has numerous apple and pear trees on the property and, after roughly 10 years of growth, those trees have reached a size and growth level where pruning is badly needed.

Mr. Holzberg-Pill is the Outdoor Technology teacher at the North West Technical Center. His sense of humor was perfect for working with the age group of 4th-6th graders. He made the students feel empowered and excited about this task. Even though the Triumph crew were novices, by the end of the hour they had definitely helped get two fairly large trees opened up and ready to grow in a healthy manner this season. KINDERGARTEN VARIETY CAMP - NORRIS

These students made coffee filter butterflies with Ms. Norris in Open Doors on Monday afternoon. 4-3-2023

MRUSD COMMUNITY CONVERSATION

Please join us for a community conversation to help the Maple Run Unified School District to be successful for all students.

The priorities are:

● Rigorous academics

● Community education about injustice and inclusion

● Bias and discipline policies

● Support services for students and families

● Family and community engagement

We wanted to better understand the challenges people are facing, and to hear people’s hopes for the young people that live and go to school in our community.

Please RSVP - https://bit.ly/MapleRunCommunityConversation
