PICTURES & NEWS WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS It was a substantially colder Wednesday morning than in recent days. This fact did not deter 100 students and 14 adults from walking or biking into school. Triumph, Discovery, and Voyagers matched each other with the most number of participants. Thank you to everyone who showed up Wednesday. Link to 3 Pictures. TEAM USA - TEAM HANDBALL - STAFF VS. STUDENTS Last Thursday, 5-11-2023, students took on teachers in a game of handball that marries elements of basketball and soccer. Team handball is a fun, fast game, and an Olympic sport, although our students and staff used a kickball in place of true handball. Link to 33 Pictures. TEAM USA On Monday, members of Team USA handed over 70 Flag kits to their former student teacher Mr. Robbie Maher at Lamoille Union Middle School. The project was part of an ongoing collaboration between Team USA and Mr. Maher's middle school social studies class that saw Team USA's new "company" Schoolyard Inc. fulfill the flag order by breaking apart palettes and reusing the materials. An additional order will soon be processed for the Norwich Public Library. Link to 18 Pictures Stay tuned for new products introduced by Schoolyard, Inc. KALEIDOSCOPE P.E. WITH MS. JARVIS AND MS. ANDREWS The students and staff played a fun version of indoor kickball. 5-17-2023. The defending team had to retrieve the kickball and pass it over their heads to the back of the line quickly in order to cause the athlete running the bases to be called "out". Link to 14 Pictures. RENAISSANCE - ANDREWS 7th and 8th graders from team Renaissance helped Ms. Andrews move tricycles from one storage area to another on Wednesday afternoon. 5-17-2023. |

LIBRARY
May is Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! This month celebrates the unique journey of all AAPI immigrants and citizens in the United States and their unique life experiences, traditions and cultures. Look for these books in our library to help you honor and celebrate the historical and cultural contributions of individuals and groups of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. **Winner of Moonbeam Children's Book Award Gold Medal** For thousands of years, children all over the world have listened to popular folktales. Each country has its own set of fascinating stories, and learning those from another part of the world is both entertaining and educational. Asian Children's Favorite Stories presents 7 Asian folktales from different countries--China, Japan, Korea, India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. A collection of seven high-energy short stories about Japan's samurai warriors touches on their way of life, courage, wit, and foolishness in action-packed tales that are both funny and profound. |
