TEACHERS, TAKE A TALLY OF WALKERS/BIKERS/BUS RIDERS TODAY Please complete your tally of all students who bussed, biked or walked to school today. Skaters and scooter riders count too. You should take the tally on a colored tally sheet that was delivered to your classroom. Completed tally sheets will be collected by climate committee members by mid-morning. Participants who chose these energy efficient methods of getting to school will be eligible for a raffle each Friday for school store coupons and, at the end of May, a used bicycle.

PICTURES TRAVELERS 3RD GRADE MUSIC - CAMERON-MUSCENTE Ms. Cameron-Muscente brought in a range of homemade percussion instruments for students to try out: tin cans, sticks, tamborines... They had an excellent and loud time following Ms. Cameron-Muscente's directions and then making up their own musical sound patterns. THE LORAX VISITED TEAM USA AND TEAM RENAISSANCE Once again, the Lorax asked students to lower their carbon footprint by traveling to and from school by foot, bike or bus. Link to Photos. CLIMATE COMMITTEE WHOLE-SCHOOL GOAL FOR MAY WALK, BIKE OR BUS ON FRIDAY There will be two teacher-led groups you can join on Friday if you want company walking to school. One will start at the fountain at Taylor Park (Mr. Marrin & Ms. Draper). The other will start near the basketball court at Houghton Park (Ms. Bashaw & Ms. Chisholm). Both will leave promptly at 7:00 AM and arrive at school at 7:25. Come to the parks at 6:55 AM.  |

TEAM USA - FREE TREES Team USA 8th graders are working with the Arbor Day Foundation and the VT Urban & Community Forestry Program to plant 250 trees on private property in St. Albans. Attention: All students in grades 4-6 HOLD THE DATE FOR A DANCE - May 19, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 We are having our first 4th-6th grade dance in 4 years! We are overjoyed to finally have everyone back for another night of friends and fun! The Theme is SPACE and expect to see Neon and Glow in the Dark decorations. Dress is whatever is comfortable for you and school appropriate. There is no cost to get in, and the snack is also provided at no cost. SUMMER FOOD ASSISTANCE Vermont will be issuing a final round of Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits for Summer 2023. All students at our school qualify for a Summer P-EBT benefit of $120 per student. This is because of the way that we are offering free school meals to all students this year.
The benefit will be sent to the head of household and mailing address that we have on file for your student. If you have moved or need to update the head of household, please let us know by Wednesday, May 10th. To make changes, please contact Jennifer Seymour at Jseymour@maplerun.org
These benefits will be sent out by mid-August. If your student missed school for a COVID-related reason between February 2023 and May 11, 2023, you will receive benefits for those days at the same time.
