Highlighting Unified Arts at SACS St Albans City School has an amazing Unified Arts team filled with opportunities for students in all grades to learn and experience physical education, art, music, STEAM, and Health. We are excited to use the Daily Announcements to highlight Unified Arts activities at our school. So without further ado, let us introduce our Unified Arts health teacher: Photo taken at Disneyland, CA over the February break. Hi! My name is Sierra Garcia and I am a health educator at SACS. This is my first year at City School. This year I visit classrooms in 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th grade on a weekly basis. I enjoy being able to work with so many students throughout my week. Health is a new class this year which has created many wonderful questions within each of our units because of students' curiosity. My favorite unit to teach students is the body systems unit, which is currently the unit we are learning about in each of my classes now. It is my favorite unit because there are so many systems within our body and they all must work together as a team to keep us functioning. My 3rd graders have had opportunities to use stethoscopes and listen to their heartbeats, 6th graders have taken a closer look at the skeletal system and 7th and 8th graders have researched a system to share with their classmates and to gain a better understanding of each system.
