Congratulations, WordMasters!
Our City School WordMasters completed their first of three annual challenge rounds on Thursday. The coaches want to recognize them for all their hard work and perseverance as they learned challenging new words and from there were able to understand tricky analogies. We ended this first round of the Challenge by awarding certificates to students for participation in this enrichment activity.
No School Today
There is no school today--Friday 12/9 due to Learning Showcases.
We are pleased to announce that the next estimating competition will begin Monday December 12th. You will find our festive estimating jar in the main lobby. Each K-6 homeroom is eligible to submit one guess. 7/8 teams submit one guess for grade 7 and one guess for grade 8. The entry slips are available in the lobby along with some tools to help students estimate. Once a homeroom submits their guess, that is their final answer. All answers must be in by Friday, December 16th at noon when the winner will be determined.
News from Sumdog
Our 1st through 3rd communities are so excited about the Sumdog competition! As a School our correct answers continue to grow rapidly! As of 2:15 on Thursday our school has answered over 2,213 Math equations correctly! Please encourage your children to continue to play at home especially over this long weekend so that we can continue to increase our score!

The best singing Kindergarten class awards for the week of Dec. 5 go to Ms. Lawyer's ( 3 stars) and Ms. Williams' class ( 3 stars). Great Job! Keep on singing.

Cram The Complex Food Drive
Renaissance would like to thank the entire St. Albans City School community for all of the food donations for the food drive. The response was great and we collected 1,096 items. The food was taken to Collins Perely where Renaissance students helped to sort the items. All of the
food will be used for Operation Happiness. A special thank you goes to the Investigators who donated 156 items. The Investigators will be presented with an award at the assembly on December 20th.
Thank you for supporting families in need this holiday season. Team Renaissance looks forward to continued collaboration on future projects.
