Announcements 10-8-12

Universal Breakfast - Free for ALL SACS Students!

Breakfast is an important way to start each day, and starting Monday October 8th, all SACS students will receive breakfast at no charge. This includes full pay students. There will be two lines in the morning-- a hot "eat in" line and a cold "grab and go" line. A grab and go breakfast is also available in the front lobby for students entering the building through the front doors. We are very excited to be able to offer this, and it is our hope that all students will participate.

W- Ham & Cheese Bagel
TH- Breakfast Burrito (Sausage, Egg & Cheese)
F- Breakfast Pocket

** All of the above are served with your choice of fruit, juice & milk

St. Albans Mayor, Mrs. Elizabeth Gamache made a surprise visit to Team USA. She took some time to talk about the many projects the City has going on right now and then to hear any ideas and concerns from the kids.
Up Coming Events
We have been extremely busy over the first month of school.  The NECAP tests are underway and will be completed next week.  Math and Language Arts classes have been working hard on building essential skills.  We have established a community government and continue to explore how it can impact our lives.  Students have found their way onto committees that have been established to take on a variety of projects and tasks.  We know we are not even close to being done our work, but we would like to share our progress and let you know what is going on in Team USA.

A few events we have planned.  All events will be hosted in the Team USA area.

October 10, 6pm-7pm - Open House - For all USA Members, parents, and guardians - Come find out what we have been up to.  There are some exciting projects taking place.  Students will share our community's progress.
October 10, 7pm-8pm - Vermont House Candidates Debate - Students will lead this political debate.  General public is welcome.
October 17, 7-8pm - Vermont Senate Candidates Debate - Students will lead this political debate.  General public is welcome.


A Famous Author Visits SACS




Ms. Lawyer's dear friend and award-winning author Anita Hilliker- Kieslich visited the Travelers team and Kindergarteners to read her story "Friends Forever" and talk about being an author. Thanks Mrs. Hilliker-Kieslich for teaching us and thank you Ms. Lawyer for making such an exciting learning experience possible!


News from Open Doors

Open Door begins Monday, October 8th. All session A students will go to the cafeteria and check in with Open Doors.

Session B students who are taking Horseback Riding will go to Bus #3 at their dismissal time and check in with Marie Bourdeau.Please make sure you check in with her first before boarding the bus.


All other session B students will go to the cafeteria.


Athletics

Saturday 10/6 X-Country is going to the BFA X-Country Festival at Hard'ack.


Monday - X-Country has a meet in Westford


Monday - The 7/8 Boys & Girls Soccer play Alburgh at home


Monday - The 5/6 Boys &Girls Soccer play at SATEC at 4:15pm
