Announcements 2-18-13

Spirit Week Begins Today!

The Competition is on!
All adults who participate must check in daily at the front desk. Teachers must keep a count of how many of their students participate each day and give the list to Mrs. Gunter. At the end of the week we will calculate who had the highest percentage of participation, staff or students  -- and the winner will be announced at the Pep Rally!

Today is Team Color/T-Shirt Day. Tomorrow is Crazy Hair/Hat Day.

News from Bright Beginnings

Each February, the American Dental Association sponsors National Childrens Dental Health Month. Developing good habits at an early age and regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Dr. Grace Dickinson-Branon visited the  Bright Beginnings Kindergarteners today. She talked about caring for our teeth and keeping them for life. The children learned how important is is to brush their teeth 2 times a day for 2 minutes, floss daily and foods to eat to keep, our teeth healthy. They enjoyed a video about fighting cavities and met her special dragon that showed us his "pearly whites"! Each student received a special bag with goodies for their teeth.

Dr Grace grew up in St Albans and was a student here at City School. She is a dentist at Dickinson & Branon Dental Care here in St Albans.

Band

Beginning Band and some 6th grades lessons and after school orchestra is on for today.
