Discovery students have been learning about mass, gravity and terminal velocity with the help of Ms. Yurchenco. Students' interests where sparked from learning about the baseball that was dropped from the top of the Washington Monument and caught. Questions arose and students decided to do there own experiments about what happens to falling objects at certain heights and how fast they will travel. Discovery students would like to thank Ms. Yurchenco!
Athletics
The 5-8 Cross Country Team has a meet at Brown's River. All Cross Country students need to be dismissed from class at 2:20 to change and meet the bus at 2:30.
The 7/8 Soccer Teams have games at SATEC starting at 4:15.
Band
If there are any students who still have not registered for the band trip but are planning to attend, please bring the paperwork to Mrs. Gunter at the front desk this morning.
Band lessons include 6th grade clarinet, trumpet, flutes, and 5th grade strings afterschool today at 2:45. Mioka is at 10.
The first rehearsal of the full orchestra is tomorrow, Thursday, at 2:45.

The October PTO meeting is tonight in the Learning Commons at 6:00pm. New members are welcome!
Walk & Bike to School Day
Friday October 11th is our Walk (or Bike) to school day. Anyone who enjoys walking or rolling to school is encouraged to join in. Most of us live within 1-2 miles of school and can walk here in 15 to 45 minutes. We need adult “walking school bus” leaders and helpers for three sites on that day.
