News from Team USA

Mr. Steve Gagner visited with Team USA students to share his passion in Vermont history.  Steve is an active U.S. Army captain.  He is also the owner of 14th Star Brewery in St. Albans, Vt. 

During his talk he touched upon these many experiences.

Taylor Park - Field Trip

Team USA visited Taylor park to complete a scavenger hunt built around the many monuments and physical features of the park.  We also met with director of St. Albans City parks, Jeff Young and his wife Jan.  Jeff is a master gardener and has taken a lead role in the transformation of the park.  They shared their knowledge and experience around the planting of the many gardens and changes in the park.

March On Washington

Team USA recently held a Vermont Public Television Public Screening session for the movie, "The March."  http://www.vpt.org/events/3308/vpt-public-screening-march  We watched and reviewed the movie and events about The March on Washington.

Helmets

There will be one more bicycle and ski helmet order placed this Fall.  Please fill in an order form by Friday October 11th and return it to Mitch Craib, Room AC217 craibm@fcsuvt.org 527-0565 x3217.  Order forms can be picked up at the school's front desk.

Open Doors

Open Doors acceptance letters were distributed to students’ classrooms on Friday, September 27^th as long as Open Doors had received a registration form. Please read acceptance letters so you are aware when your class begins. Not all classes begin the week of October 7^th.  For example, Outdoor Play and Exercise begins on Monday, October 21^st not Monday, October 7^th.  Please call Open Doors at 802-527-0565 extension 1103 if you have any questions.
