News from Bright Beginnings

Bright Beginnings visited Hudak Farm in late October where they observed compost being processed, where the children picked pumpkins and where the kids got to learn about recycling.  Although the weather was windy and cold, everyone had a good time.


News from Drama


Next Monday and Tuesday, December 9th and 10th, Miss Gelfon will be holding DRAMA DAYS for anyone interested in participating in this year’s musical, which will be…. Aladdin!!   



Both drama days will be spent learning the songs and script parts for auditions, which will be held next Thursday and Friday, December 12th and 13th.  

All students interested in participating in the musical MUST attend at least ONE or BOTH drama days, no exceptions. Day 1 will be for everyone interested in any role, as well as the chorus/ensemble, and Day 2 will be geared towards those interested in a MAIN role.  IT IS HIGHLY SUGGESTED THAT ANYONE INTERESTED SHOULD ATTEND BOTH DAYS.

EVERYONE must come see Miss Gelfon for a permission slip to participate in the drama days.

Please make arrangements for getting home -  Anyone who needs to take the Activities bus must come see Miss Gelfon for a sign-up bus form. 

Both drama days AND auditions will be held in Miss Gelfon's room.

Band

5th grade violins will not be having lessons this afternoon. Please take your regular bus home today.

6th grade lessons include GG, flutes, clarinets, trumpets, and double bass.


Jr. Band is rehearsing tomorrow.

Reminder - The Wreath pick up is Saturday from 10:00Am-12:00PM at the gym doors. If you would like to arrange to pick your wreathes up on Friday morning please contact Desiree Gunter at gunterd@fcsuvt.org or 527-0565 ext. 1107

Open Doors


Open Doors classes are meeting today Wednesday, December 4th.
Open Doors Hip Hop for 1st-3rd grade that meets from 3:30-4:15 is meeting today.

PAG 2014


Just a reminder that this Saturday, the PAG is entering a float for the Festival of Trees Parade.  Our theme is The Polar Express.  If your 8th grader wants to participate, please have them meet at BFA at 10:30 am.  They should dress in PJs/bathrobe.  A cash prize will be given to the top three floats!

Also, we are selling raffle tickets for a money tree.  Your 8th grader should have been informed of the raffle by their 8th grade reps.  We have tickets to sell if you know anyone who would like to buy one.  $1 a ticket gets you a chance to win a money tree worth over $100 and a small present (with lottery tickets)!

Athletics

The 6th grade Boys Basketball team has practice  Wednesday this week and next week MondayTuesday, and Wednesday  5:00-6:30

The 5th grade Boys Basketball team has practice tonight(Weds) from 6:00 - 7:30.

Open Doors


Open Doors classes are meeting today Wednesday, December 4th.
Open Doors Hip Hop for 1st-3rd grade that meets from 3:30-4:15 is meeting today.

However, the Hip Hop Tutoring class that meets from 2:45-3:30 does not meet today.

Please contact Open Doors if you are confused about which class you are in.


Hannaford Helps Schools




Dear Students and Staff of SACS,
The deadline for submitting School Dollars for the Hannaford Helps Schools program is Friday, December 13th, 2013. If you haven’t already submitted them at the store, please turn in any school dollars to Dynamic Design ASAP, so that we can submit them to make money for our school.

Operation Happiness


Today is the last day for Operation Happiness!  We have collected a total of 2,455 as of yesterday. Today will be the last day of collecting. Thank you to each team who participated in this cause!  Our school has done a great job, and we hope to reach our goal of 3,000 items by the end of the day!  Stay tuned for the winner of the ice-cream party.
