Annoucements 4-8-14

News from Sunrise Club

Sunrise Club is spreading Autism Awareness for their April Bulletin Board which students help plan. The students worked very hard to trace and design puzzle pieces to represent the leaves of the tree! Brittany Mailhotte and Philip Cook cut out all the puzzle pieces and put up the Bulletin Board!

Awesome Work Sunrise Club!

Codesmyths

Attention Codesmythies:

Class is CANCELED this Thurs. April 10th due to a conflict with the school play.  We will have our guest speaker next week. See you in office hours.

Words of the Week

The words for this week are:
Demonstrate: You show how to do something
Ms. Haberman will demonstrate how to weave in Art class.
Examine:  You look closely at something.
Ms. Gelfon would like you to examine the costumes at the Aladin presentation on Thursday to see how well made they are.
Keep passing out those City cards when you hear students using these words in conversation or in writing or find them in a book.

Families:  We have some activities you could have to play at home with these words.  Pick them up at the front desk!

Walk to School Day a Big Success!

On Friday April 4th we had 202 people walk or bike into school.  This number is much higher than seen previously, partly due to warmer weather.  Congratulations to all participants for doing something to improve your health and fitness.  For those of you who have yet to join in our walks, please consider doing so next time.  Most students live within a mile of school and that is a very walkable distance.

Our next "walk (bike) to school" day is May 2nd.  Lets try to double our numbers on that day. Teachers may want to consider being a part of the day by parking a mile away from school and then walking in.

Band

Jr. Band is rehearsing today, and today is cello day.
