Stream Table
Students from Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Adams class enjoy the water table. |
Come to the Professional Library, this week to see the demonstration water table. This table, which is on loan from the Ottauquechee National Resources Conservation District, provides a great hands-on learning opportunity for kids and adults. The table shows how streams form, how they change over time, how erosion happens, and much, much more! Teachers, email Ms. Yurchenco or visit the calendar to set up a time to bring your students.
Students from Renaissance learned about erosion with this interactive stream table. Students recreated natural disasters and watched how the land changed and the roads washed away as they increased the flow of water or changed the width of the river. They learned about how to better preserve the land.
There is also an Open House so that any one interested in the water table can check it out. Students will be demonstrating to the public stream geomorphology and river dynamics. The Open House is on Wednesday April 9th from 5:00 - 7:00 and is free and open to the community.
