News from Team USA

Vermont Lieutenant Governor, Phil Scott

Mr. Scott told us about his life before politics as a race car driver when he didn't have a political bone in his body. He still continues to drive at Thunder Road on Thursday nights. After trying to become a professional racer, he ran for senate and won. He was senator for ten years until he thought the senate needed a fresh mind. He did not run for senate again. When he left the role of senator, the current Lieutenant Governor of Vermont ran for Governor. This opened the spot for Lieutenant Governor and Phil Scott thought he'd fit the bill. Now, as Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Scott works in the state house, and is second in line from the governor Peter Shumlin. This means that when Mr. Shumlin is out of state Mr. Scott takes his place as governor for the time being.

We give a huge thanks to Lieutenant Governor Mr. Phil Scott for speaking to Team USA!
