Purple Heart Award
                                                  Written by: Cooper C.

The Purple Heart award is an award given to soldiers who have been wounded in battle and have survived. The veterans who have been wounded are presented with this award. Although these medals have great honor, some of the medals were sold by the veteran when they came back from battle so they would have money to pay the medical bills and any other expenses. There is one veteran, Captain Zach Fike, who knows what these medals mean to one another, so he has begun a mission. He goes to antique sales, garage sales etc. At these sales, he searches for the medals. Once he finds one, he looks on the back for the engraved name of the soldier. He goes all over the country just to return these medals to their rightful owners. The Purple Heart award, is a great honor to the veterans, they gave close to the ultimate sacrifice, sacrificing their lives.

The Purple Heart award began many years ago. The founder of this great award is the very well known George Washington on August 7, 1782. This award means great honor to all veterans who have been wounded  in the line of battle.
