Friends of St. Albans City School (Formerly the PTO)
There has been a lot of talk about the new menu at St. Albans City School this year. Please come to the City School cafeteria at 6:00 pm today (Tuesday), October 27th, and enjoy some samples of what the children at the school are eating. There will be a focus on salad bar items like dressings and toppings.
Directly after that there will be a meeting of the Friends of St. Albans City School. This month’s agenda items include election of Officers, approval of minutes, and next steps. If you have any question please email Chad Spooner at chaddyvt@gmail.com. Please like our Facebook page for updated information: https://www.facebook.com/ groups/stalbanscityschoolpto/
Planting Garlic and Strawberries
Many people don't realize that certain plants should be planted in October to grow properly in the following spring and summer. Garlic and strawberries are two of these kinds of plants. Because the soil in this portion of the garden is poor, topsoil from the Hudak composting operation was added to the garden beds prior to planting. Students from Team USA volunteered to assist Mrs. Smith in getting these tasks done.
More Kindergarteners have a Chance to Make Pumpkin Muffins
On Monday 10-26-2015 Mrs William's and Mrs. Scott's classes visited the family and consumer science kitchen to prepare pumpkin muffins. The photos show Mrs. Smith orchestrating the cooking experience. As with previous classes, the muffins were delicious. Local pumpkin, eggs and butter were used in the treats.
