Veteran's Day Celebration at Taylor Park this Morning
Please be assembled out front of the school at 9:15
Each Student and adult will receive a flag. Please always be respectful of it.
Again this year, we will be escorted by the Viet Nam Veterans on Motorcycles.
Flag etiquette: Do not let the flags touch the ground. When the pledge is said and the Star Spangled Banner played, please remove hats and put hand on heart.
Parade on main street starts at 10:15. After the parade passes, (we will not wait for BFA students to pass) we will move up to the designated area by the monument. Young students in the front. 6th, 7th and 8th graders will be behind all the others. There will be a painted, designated area for City School. Team USA students and National Guard members will help direct you to the correct area.
Kindergarten will leave the park when the kindergarten teachers feel it is appropriate.
Near the end of the ceremony, the entire crowd will sing God Bless America, led by Ms Cameron-Muscente.
At the very end, we are going to have the entire crowd yell, (on 3) "THANK YOU VETS", while waving the flags. The event will be recorded by a drone!

Voyagers harvested their beets and have begun to process them into beet cake and dye for coloring cloth. Some of the Voyagers are shown peeling the beets on Monday morning (11-9-2015). The Voyagers planted beets this past spring. This is the third consecutive year that the Voyagers have grown beets and made beet cake.
