Team Triumph is hosting an 80's Disco dance today from 6:00-8:00 PM. The cost is $3.00. If you wear an 80's costume, you will get a raffle ticket entered into a drawing for prizes.

Outside Recess
Outside recess is not recommended. It will be quite cold outside.

The Impact of Universal (no cost) Meals at St. Albans City School
This year, both breakfast and lunchtime meals are being served at no cost. The meals are healthy and generally appealing to students. More students than ever are consuming both Abbey meals and there is a consensus among staff that students are happy and ready to learn as a consequence. St. Albans City School also serves free vegetable and fruit snacks between meals and offers no-cost after-school programming healthy snacks and meals.

The graph below shows how participation rates at lunch are up. Meals that were served the last week of January -last year and this year -were compared. More than 80 additional students are being served lunch each day this year compared to last year.

Investigators's Science Project 2-10-2016

	The Investigators have been thinking about where water comes from and where it goes. They created water filtration systems to clean dirty water. These engineers performed two trials They modified the materials chosen for their second trial after thinking about the successes and failures of their first trials.

UVM Connected Science Teachers visited St. Albans City School
On Wednesday 2-10-2016, a dozen K-12 science teachers from around the region spent all day observing science classes at our school. Teachers Aliquo (Incredibles), Loucy (Renaissance) and Levine (Triumph), along with their students, did an amazing job of showcasing the kind of learning taking place at SACS. The observing teachers were really impressed!

Recycling Containers
Vermont State Act 148 makes recycling in Vermont mandatory. In other words, if you throw a piece of paper in the garbage, you are hurting the environment, and breaking the law! To help you, Team USA has installed recycling bins around the school. You can currently find one in front of the playground and on the front steps. Please use these containers. The school grounds will be cleaner, the environment will benefit and you will be a law abiding citizen!

Parents: The new drop off plan has now been implemented. Please pull beyond the crosswalk before letting your children off. This procedure makes using the crosswalk safer for pedestrians. Please know that front row parking in the parking lots is still available for parents who wish to walk their children into the school building.
