Band
Jr. Band and lessons are happening today.

Tonight, the Jazz Band will be having an open rehearsal in the band room at 5 to 6 pm. Please be there a few minutes early. We will be doing Dominoes pizza at the end of rehearsal.

B WIN time 5th grade beginning band will be meeting at 2:45 this afternoon.





Unified Arts Night is Tonight 5:00 to 7:00 pm
The St. Albans City School Unified Arts Team will hold the annual Unified Arts Night for students, parents, family and friends this evening.  There will be lots of great displays, activities and snacks for Kindergartners through 8th graders.  Please join us!

Here are just a few of the things you can experience:
  • Jeh Kulu Dancers and Drummers in the big gym (all grades)
  • Beach Ball games in the small gym for PreK-2
  • Watch the chorus and recorder performers
  • Jazz Band will hold an open rehearsal
  • Family and Consumer Sciences will offer sweet potato bites
  • Art displays in galleries and in the art rooms
  • Snacks in the cafeteria




Kindergarten Students from Mrs. Walsh's classroom help prepare for Unified Arts Night
Sweet potatoes were cleaned and peeled on Monday 2-1-2016 by the kindergarteners in preparation for making sweet potato-tots for the open house tonight.  Later that morning, 7th and 8th grade students from USA and Renaissance ground up the sweet potatoes, added spices to them, and then cooked them up into tots for taste testing.  Tonight visitors will be get a chance to try this treat.

February's Walk to School Day is Tomorrow (Wednesday)
It should be comparatively warm for winter and windy.  Get out your rain jacket or umbrella and join us walking in to school.  Pencils & Stickers to all participants.

Outside Recess
It is a great day to get outside and play even though it is a lot cooler than yesterday. Go burn some calories and have fun.

Tiny Snowman
We have had some unprecedented warm weather recently and almost all of our snow has melted.  A few of Discovery's sixth grade students made Mr. Snowpants last Friday before the usable snow disappeared.








Harvest of the Month
During the winter months excellent tasting storage vegetables are celebrated. Vermont's Farm to School network has selected cabbage as the this month's Harvest of the Month vegetable.  You can learn more about cabbage and recipes for eating cabbage with this LINK.
