Announcements 9-13-2016

TUESDAY



Bus Accident
Monday morning (9-12-2016) during the A bus run there was an accident on the purple bus. The bus was loading students when the car stopped behind the bus was rear-ended and went into the bus.

All children are fine and came to school. They needed to wait at the crash site until checked out until they could return. The assistant principal and Mrs. Biggie were there to support them at the scene. All parents of the students on the purple bus were called after the children arrived. Anxiety is a normal reaction to this type of event.





Sports

The 5/6 boys soccer team will play against Grand Isle at City School tomorrow at 4:15.
The 5/6 girls will not have a game. They will be practicing after school as usual.
7/8 Boys and Girls will Play an away game at Westford.  4:30 PM

The next cross country running practice is on Thursday the 15th.




Band
Band lessons for Sr. Band are starting this week. The lesson schedule is always available outside the band room door.

String students are reminded that full orchestra is rehearsing tomorrow, Wednesday. 

Sr. Band students lessons are also happening today, and Sr band is rehearsing with 6th graders this afternoon as well as Thursday.
Sr. Band 6th graders are reminded of rehearsal today and Thursday.




USA Events
Tuesday, 9/13/16 - USA Field trip to Houghton Park, 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Wednesday, 9/14/16 - Team USA Parent Night, 6-7 PM




Important Information about The Spring Drama Event
St. Albans City School will put on a spring musical with 5th through 8th graders. Family members and guardians should know now that the dates for the musical will be Friday the 21st (an Inservice day) and Saturday the 22nd (the first official day the spring recess) of April. Family member and guardians should plan vacations accordingly.




Open Doors
We have had an overwhelming response to our Open Doors program and many of our programs are full. We have wait lists for students who were not able to be enrolled this session. Open Doors will run throughout the school year and students will have other opportunities to participate.

The following programs are full: Hip Hop, Tae Kwon Do (both classes), Drama, Dodgeball, and Archery.

Enrollment letters will be going home the week of the 19th and programs begin on Monday, October 3rd. Please check the information on the enrollment letters to make sure we have the correct information for your student.

September's Walking Wednesday is Tomorrow
The weather is perfect at this time of year. Come out and join one of the seven walking school buses coming into St. Albans City School.  Check out the map below to determine which route to join and when to meet up with the walking bus.
