Candidate Forum Report
Team USA hosted a local candidate forum on Wednesday evening. Corey Parent, Mike McCarthy, Carolyn Branagan, Sara Kittell, Denise Smith, Dustin Degree and Claude Bouchard attended. Each candidate took the time to answer questions from Team USA students. The evening provided the St. Albans community a chance to hear from their representatives prior to the vote on November 8.

Kindergarteners & Bus Safety
On Wednesday wellness coordinator, Mr. Craib, talked to all the kindergarteners about bus safety.  The main point of the talk was to inform children about how hard it is for the drivers to see students when they are walking or standing close to the bus (danger zone). The drivers do not want to accidentally hurt a student. Students were also reminded about how to behave on or nearby the bus.

Mr. Craib finished by informing the young students that anyone who bikes to school will be safer wearing helmets and walking all crosswalks.

For Snacks today we have Cucumbers
There are hundreds of varieties of cucumber, and they come in dozens of colors, but the edible types are classified as being for either slicing or pickling, according to Cornell University’s Growing Guide. Slicing cucumbers are cultivated to be eaten fresh, while pickling cucumbers are intended for the brine jar. Slicing cucumbers are usually larger and thicker-skinned than pickling ones.     http://www.livescience.com/51000-cucumber-nutrition.html
