            Rotary Club Ski Program

            This program is for Grades 4 through 12 and will run for 10 weeks beginning January 7, 2017. The dates are January 7, 14, 21, 28 - February 4, 11, 18, 25 – March 4 & 11.

The program includes an all-day lift ticket and 2-hour group lesson taught by a professional instructor. If your child’s ability level is in the 1-4 range, we strongly encourage them to take lessons. This is a great opportunity to learn as there is no additional cost for taking a lesson.

Please Note: Due to the number of skiers at Smugglers’ Notch, there will be no lessons on January 14th (Martin Luther King Weekend) and February 18th & 25th (President’s Weekend/School Vacation)

The program will cost each participant $25.00 per week. Participants should bring the exact amount in cash. Smugglers’ Notch Season Pass holders will be charged $10.00.

Compare participation rates over the last three years by examining the graphs below. This year our numbers seem low. We know that walking to school helps students get about a third of the exercise needed daily and it helps our school be a little more environmentally friendly.  We also know that research shows students are more ready to learn after this kind of exercise.  Learning communities what can we do to increase the numbers joining in on Walking Wednesdays?  Temperatures this Wednesday will be well above freezing.

            PICTURES AND REPORTS

            Developing Presentation Skills
Team Triumph worked on a presentation with Mrs. Draper called New Year’s Resolutions for 2017.  They created a google slideshow and then presented it to their class.  They had to come up with three or more resolutions and they really enjoyed it!   1-4-2017

Voyagers Celebrated Their Donation of the Most Food to SACS Operation Happiness
The Voyagers learning community brought in the most food for the Operation Happiness food drive last December and won a well deserved ice-cream party. The party was held as part of their "Fun Friday" celebration.  Ice-cream amounts were modest so students were not too sugared up as they headed home at the end of the day.
