RECESS WEATHER

Only those dressed with snow boots, snow pants, jackets, mittens and hats should consider going outside today.  The wind will make it feel quite cold.

PLEASE DO NOT PLAY IN THE HUGE SNOW BANKS NEAR THE PARKING LOTS OR BUS LOOP.

The snow tubes are out.  We will try to have some snow shoes out to try today as well.

Snow and Bus Safety

We need to remind ourselves to follow all bus expectations so that drivers can pay full attention to driving their bus.  The roads have been slippery and high snowbanks make it difficult for drivers to see.  Please wait at your stops and make sure that you are on the sidewalk.  Do not play in the snow banks as you can fall into the road and be hit by a vehicle that might not see you.

At the end of the day make sure that you wear your snow boots as they will help prevent you from falling.  When you are dropped off at your house or daycare please make sure that you leave the bus and immediately walk onto the sidewalk.  If you are crossing the street always wait for the bus driver’s signal.   Our collective goal is to keep students and adults safe.  Let’s all work together to make sure that we are all safe.

PICTURES AND REPORTS

4th and 5th Grade Music Festival
Ten students from St. Albans City School participated in the first ever VMEA 4th/5th grade Choral Festival on Friday, March 10 at Mount Mansfield Union High School. The festival was part of the March is Music In the Schools month. The students prepared 5 pieces of music ahead of time, and joined another 120 students in a combined chorus. The students practiced for the day for an evening concert. They enjoyed meeting new friends, had Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream and danced and played together before the concert began. Miss Hartman and Mrs. Cameron-Muscente participated in a one hour steel drum workshop and did a surprise performance with other music teachers at the beginning of the concert. LINK TO 32 PICTURES
