BREAKFAST PICTURES
Here are a few photos from Friday's breakfast and the morning gathering.
DRAMA
Drama has been working extremely hard practicing to perform a one act play by DM Larson titled Holka Polka. The performance will be on Friday July 21st at 10 am. WE are so excited to see how their hard work has paid off. Drama will also be having a spirit week next week:
MINECRAFT
The Minecraft group has been very busy building, building, building....... Each day students had a challenge to complete. If they completed that challenge they earn Minecraft money to spend on materials for the next day's challenge.
A few of the students commented that building the tree fort and bridge have been their favorite challenges.
AFRICAN DRUMMING SKILLS DEMONSTRATED ON FRIDAY
Kids who had been working on their drumming skills over the last week had a chance to exhibit their skills. This 1 1/2 minute long video segment provides a good sample of their abilities. The entire performance took a little less than 10 minutes.
CHOMP
Open doors offered two wonderful opportunities this week for students. These young friends had a chance to cook healthy snack options each day.
For those who didn't know CHOMP stands for:
C - Choosing
H - Healthy
O - Options in
M -Meal
P - Planning
Chomp students made the following healthy snack choices:
Miss Patty's cooking group spent some time making these yummy snack options:
EXPLORING LOCAL ECOSYSTEMS - FAIRFIELD POND The crew of kids and adults took off for Fairfield pond on Thursday morning to paddle out and see some loons. They encountered lots of rain and experienced cold conditions but still managed to have a good time. Towards the end of their time at the pond, they did see loons. Upon returning back to school they consumed some much-needed food and then went to watch some videos on loons and other natural phenomena. Pictures taken by Liam Rochleau. |
