SUMMER PROGRAMMING REPORTS AND PICTURES
BREAKFAST PICTURES 7-17-2017 Pictures by Mitch Craib and edited and arranged by Liam Rocheleau
EXPLORING LOCAL ECOSYSTEMS Adventure to Sterling Pond on Friday, July 14th, 2017 The crew drove 30 miles up to Smugglers Notch to hike up a steep mountainside to reach Sterling Pond. Once again the team encountered rain. Undaunted, they made it to the pond and down quickly and happily. There was a brief stop at Hoss's Dog stand for a creemee once they were back in St. Albans. Here are some pictures Liam Rocheleau took along the way to share with us.
FITNESS CAMP
Nate Yandow of Duke's Fitness led kids and adults through a range of core strengthening exercises. These were followed by some fun movements skill enhancing drills. The sky was overcast and the temperatures modest. It was nice to be outside.
MORRISVILLE VERMONT AUTHOR VISITED THE HUMANITIES CAMP
Vermont author, Bill Schubart, spent time with humanities kids on Monday morning talking about the importance of place in writing and about what inspired him. Schubart has lived with his family in Vermont since 1947 and is a writer of fiction, humor and opinion pieces.
WINDOW REPAIR
A crew of men came to fix the windows on the end of the school building nearest the athletic fields. Not only were broken panes of glass being replaced but so were the frames and insulating panels below each window. The building will be more energy efficient as a consequence.
