PICTURES AND REPORTS
WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS
100 students and 14 adults walked/biked or scootered in to school on Walking Wednesday. With the earlier arrival time at school, and low-daylight time of year, it was a dark start for all of the walking school buses. The air temperature was about 37 degrees Farenheit and it was overcast. Fortunately, it became light along the way and everyone arrived in good spirits. Our next Walking Wednesday is December 6th. We encourage everyone to walk/bike/scooter to school in the intervening time.
Team Renaissance had the largest turnout on Wednesday with 17 students. Thank you and good job Renaissance!
RENAISSANCE Students made pendulums out of large washers, pieces of string and meter sticks. They then made observations about pendulum behaviors by timing movements, shortening or lengthening the string or changing other variables. All observations were carefully recorded and discussed to gain a general understanding of the physics behind pendulum actions. Along the way students learned about qualitative and quantitative observations and independent and dependent variables. This is a good sample of project-based scientific learning.
DREAMERS
From Mrs. Williams - Holiday Fun. P.E. IN THE LITTLE GYM Can you guess what these students are doing? They were definitely having an enjoyable and focused time on the task. Ms. Wight and other teachers work to blend some science into some of their P.E. classes. |
