PICTURES AND REPORTS
VOYAGERS IN ART Students built cardboard cityscapes with Ms. Tagliamonte on November 8th. They cut out building shapes and then glued them onto platforms. These structures will be painted when they dry in upcoming classroom sessions. LINK TO 24 PICTURES IMAGINATION Team Imagination wanted to create a custom logo to decorate the drawstring bags that will hold their rocks. Their goal is to create a logo out of heat transfer vinyl. After it is cut on the vinyl cutter, it will get weeded. Weeding is when you take all the pieces that you don’t want out of the vinyl. This leaves a finished image that can then be heat transferred to their bag. George, a 3rd grader on Imagination, came into the makerspace and worked with Mrs. Borst to make his vision come through. His first step was to draw it on the whiteboard table. From there, he drew the fish using his finger on Mrs. Borst’s computer. After a lot of fiddling, they were able to get the image onto the vinyl cutting software. We watch the vinyl cutter as it quickly cut out his custom logo. We took out all the unwanted vinyl and heated up the heat press. It had to heat up to 320 degrees! Once it was heated up we put the logo on top of the bag and pushed the heat press down. In 15 seconds the logo was attached and Imagination walked away with a custom bag! DREAMERS Mr. Barker's classroom early morning pictures.
