PICTURES AND REPORTS
HOPE The day after tapping the maple trees next to the far end of our walking path HOPE students went out to the woods again to collect the sap from their buckets. They found that each bucket contained from 1 to 3 gallons, a huge and unexpected haul in just one day. Our school's maple sap evaporator will have a hard time keeping up with the over 100 gallons collected by the HOPE and Triumph students this Tuesday. HOPE Tabulated collection of 90 gallons from their section of the woods. Little did we know five years ago when we invisioned maple sugaring on school property, that this effort would be so productive and that we would have a "sugar house" to make it happen. More pictures will be posted once the sap is undergoing evaporation in the sugar house. It was a productive training session. |
