  • Because oranges do not spoil easily and are full of vitamin C during the years of world exploration sailors planted orange and other citrus trees along trade routes to prevent scurvy which is a disease that develops from a deficiency of vitamin C.
  • It is believed that Christopher Columbus was the first to bring orange seeds to America during his second voyage to the region in 1493.
  • There are now over 600 varieties of oranges worldwide.
  • There are typically ten segments inside an orange.

Students who need to take the late bus must register for it before 12:00 noon - there is no late bus on Fridays.

BAND

All Beginning violins have a lesson this afternoon, and beginning cello's on Wednesday.

Sr. Band is rehearsing today at 2.

7/8 band lessons are on Week A.

5th-8th Grade Fitness Team information
Please remember to bring back signed permssion slips!

Tryouts for the 5-8 fitness team will be Thursday 3/15 and Tuesday 3/20

Tryout time is 3:20-4:30 in big gym. Please dress for the weather and outside activity

If taking the late bus home, please sign up by 1:00 on the day you will be riding.

Students report to the cafeteria until 3:15

This week we are going to have a Spirit Week to celebrate Music in Our Schools Month. The theme for the spirit week will be Music through the Decades.  Through the week, music from each day's decade will play in the cafeteria.
