GREEN UP DAY - MAY 5TH

PICTURES AND REPORTS

HOMEMADE MAPLE SYRUP
Students from HOPE (hands-on practical education group) presented the cafeteria with four gallons of maple syrup made on school property. HOPE students and staff boiled down about 160 gallons of maple sap into those four gallons of syrup. The syrup that had not already been shared with learning communities previously, was then put onto pancakes provided at a "breakfast for lunch" meal served in the cafeteria on Wednesday 4-19-2018. Delicious.
Gathering sap
Evaporating water from the sap in the sugar house
Delivering 4-gallons of the syrup
Tasting it to be sure it was fine. It was.
Pouring the syrup onto pancakes
Enjoying the pancakes.

SOFTBALL TEAM PRACTICE
Again the weather outside was wet and cold. The softball team practiced in the Big Gym Tuesday. Pictures show the warmup and skill-based exercises the team did. 4-17-29=018
