BAND
All Sr. Band members, and Elizabeth, Ella, Noah should report to the band room at 1:30 to get ready for marching this afternoon. Beginning violin and cello students have their lesson this afternoon after school. Mr. Mehaffey will be finding students for the district festival music lessons today. |

WEDNESDAY MAY 2ND IS WALK AT LUNCH DAY
Each Year St. Albans City School Joins in Vermont's Walk at Lunch Day. This is a day to celebrate simple exercise for health and the arrival of spring. Please try to get out sometime on Wednesday and do at least a lap around the walking path.

STARTING THIS WEEK (May 2nd)
...and next week Wednesday, May 9th is a National Bike to School Day in addition to being a walk to school day.
 FREE GREEN UP DAY TRASH BAGS TO BE HANDED OUT TO PARENTS BY ST. ALBANS CITY MAYOR TIM SMITH AT THURSDAY DISMISSAL TIME LINK TO INFORMATION ABOUT GREEN UP DAY on May 5th.  The Middle School District Music Festival will take place on Friday, May 4th 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturday May 5th 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Missisquoi Valley Union MS/HS. A concert will take place Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at MVU. Tickets will be sold at the door: $4 students/seniors, $6 Adults, $15 Family (cash and checks only).
WALKING CONTEST BETWEEN
LEARNING COMMUNITIES STARTING NEXT WEEK
It will run for four weeks from May 7th through June 1st.
There are two prizes of a one-hour pool party at the St. Albans Recreation Pool next to our school
1. Be the learning community with the most number of laps completed on the walking path (1-hour pool party).
2. Be the learning community with the highest number of walkers/bikers tallied on Walking Wednesdays over that time period (1-hour pool party).
More information will be supplied closer to the contest.

PICTURES AND REPORTS
FARM EDUCATION IN KINDERGARTEN -DREAMERS Ms. Virginia visited Ms. Williams classroom to talk about goats. One of the students dressed up as a goat so that Ms. Virginia could explain how goats are different than other animals and people. She followed this lesson up by having students make fresh butter. Everyone got a chance to taste the results. Delicious. LINK TO 55 PICTURES     STUDENT NURSES VISITED TO HELP WITH TESTS 5th Graders were treated to some fundamental hearing and vision tests on Tuesday 5-1-2018. Visiting nurses assisted SACS nurses Mrs. Raleigh and Mrs. Kane in processing data from the tests.
