PICTURES AND REPORTS
PRELIMINARY WALKING PATH CONTEST RESULTS The tally clipboard is missing from Travelers, so this is not the final tally. An update will be provided mid-week. However, the Travelers' data is unlikely to change the current overall race results from last week. And here they are: BIG SURPRISE Team Discovery decided not to be discouraged by their 2nd place finish to Voyagers last week and they quietly walked and ran crazy amounts during the second week. Each student walked/ran between 15 and 34 laps. That is 7 to 18 miles per student. Amazing. Smartly, Discovery really took advantage of the double laps awarded to students on SBAC days and added significantly to their total. This means that Discovery overcame a 300 point deficit to surpass the Voyagers slightly by the end of the second week. Will the Voyagers respond in the third week? Is there any other team capable of matching Voyagers and Discovery? Which team will win the pool party on the 19th of June? I am sure some remarkable lappers were missed but quickly looking over the tally sheets these walker/runners stood out: *Lilly made the list because she did way more than the rest of her team. If someone feels overlooked, please feel to contact Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org
VACCINATION REPORT
The information below shows the percentage of St. Albans City School students vaccinated for each individual vaccine. Our school performed very well in comparison with the rest of the state. Thank you, everyone, for sharing your records with our school nurses.
KINDERGARTEN NIGHT There was an excellent turnout for kindergarten night. It was a time for parents and families to let the school know about incoming kindergarten students. There was blue block, and tech equipment entertainment while parents registered their kids and learned what they have to do to get their child properly enrolled. Everything appeared to go well with both families and staff happy with the process. 5-17-2018 CELEBRITY FORMER STUDENT VISITED SACS 5-16-2018 Once a Raider, always a Raider. Alec Wolf came to visit SACS with his former basketball coach (also former SACS Facilities Director), Scott Martin. Alec is an excellent student at BFA who happens to be blind and who continues to engage in life full force. When at SACS he ran cross-country, played basketball, was a member of the band and much more. In recent years he has become well known for broadcasting/calling sports events -something he also did at City School. Alec is always upbeat and fearless. Mr. Barker's and Mrs. Walsh's students candled chick eggs. By putting a light behind an egg it is possible to see whether an egg is viable and can go into an incubator and whether the embryo is developing as it should. Thank you for the pictures Dreamers

BRIDGES SHARE A GREAT TOOL
The Time Machine is a tool that coaches students through steps for conflict resolution. There are 7 steps: 1) Roll back time 2) Ask for Willingness 3) Smile, take a deep breath, and relax 4) Wish each other well 5) 1-2-3 Focus on the goal 6) Sentence starters 7) Repair the bond.
