SACS IS ONE OF FIVE 2018 STUDENT VOICE FINALISTS This is a big deal and we will learn if SACS wins by the end of June. St. Albans City School, Vermont Armorel High School, Arkansas Effingham County CEO Program, IllinoisNoblesville High School, Indiana Meadow Park Middle School, Oregon
The SETDA Student Voices Award honors an outstanding K-12 school or district that has leveraged technology to dramatically improve the educational experiences and achievement of their students. Winners receive the Elsie Brumback Scholarship, which allows the winner to bring a team of students and educators to attend the annual SETDA Leadership Summit and tour Washington DC. SETDA also profiles the winning school/district at the Summit through presentations delivered by their students on stage in front of state and national education leaders.
INVESTIGATORS "Have you noticed these two lovely ladies? No, they are not Hawaiian but are counting down to the next fabulous phase of their life ( which may include Hawaii!). Please join the Investigator team in wishing them well with a hug, high five or thumbs up as they take that big yellow bus outta here!"
OLDER STUDENTS MENTORED YOUNGER STUDENTS IN PE
Once again our older students helped younger students have a successful PE session. Fun for both groups.
INSPIRATIONAL PARAPALEGIC VISITED RENAISSANCE Kelly came and talked about being a multi-skilled athlete growing up. During college, she suffered a skiing accident that left her paralyzed from the mid-chest down. Nevertheless, she finished college on-schedule and re-learned how to ski, among other sports. She went on to earn an advanced degree in a branch of medicine and has become a mother. Life is different but it has not slowed her down. 6-7-2018 |
