CONSCIOUS DISCIPLINE TRAINING
More than 140 teachers and school staff members from around the country are taking a week-long workshop in conscious discipline techniques at St. Albans City School. They started on Monday the 25th and will keep going through the 1st of July. Facilitators from North Carolina and from St. Albans City School's staff will be orchestrating the workshop. What is conscious discipline? From the conscious discipline website here are some brief answers that that question: "FOR TEACHERS. We equip educators to integrate social-emotional learning, discipline and self-regulation so they spend less time policing behavior and more time teaching vital life skills. FOR ADMINISTRATORS. Conscious Discipline is a leader in classroom management and provides a transformational, whole-school solution for social-emotional learning, discipline, and self-regulation. FOR MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS. Conscious Discipline utilizes everyday events to cultivate emotional intelligence through a self-regulation program that integrates social-emotional learning and discipline. FOR PARENTS. Conscious Discipline is a proven, comprehensive approach that empowers you with skills that create a safe, connected, problem-solving environment for families."
The facilitators organize before workshop participants show up on Monday Evening.
