PICTURES AND REPORTS

ELLIS INSTRUMENT DEMONSTRATION
It is the time of year for students to consider playing an instrument and signing up for music lessons and band practice. On Tuesday (9-11-2018) a demonstration of band musical instruments was given in the cafeteria. The visitor was able to play all of the instruments shown in the photos.

MONARCH BUTTERFLIES
For several years now we have been making a point of planting and protecting milkweed and pollinator flowers to help monarch butterflies thrive. Indeed, we are now a certified monarch way station because of our efforts. We have seen a few butterflies each summer but nothing like we have this summer. Gardeners and people who spend time in the outdoors locally have noticed far more butterflies than in the last half dozen years. The Aventurers (Lewis) shared several pictures of a butterfly they spotted, and Mrs. Smith noticed a chrysalis in the tomato beds of the market garden on school property.

THE YEAR OF THE SUNFLOWER
If you are strolling around the exterior of the school building or nearby the school gardens you will see some amazing sunflowers.
