PICTURES AND REPORTS
FIELD TRIP TO ST. ALBANS BAY Fourth graders from Incredibles, Triumph, Discovery and Voyagers met representatives from the St. Albans Historical Museum and the Friends of Northern Lake Champlain to learn about historical land use and water pollution. Clusters of students rotated around a variety of learning stations for lessons on land use and the choices we make that impact water quality. One of the most interesting stations had students dump "pollutants" (perfectly safe food ingredients) onto a land/water model. Then water was poured onto the model which washed the pollutants downhill and into the model lake. The model clearly and elegantly showed how pollutants reach the fresh water of Lake Champlain. LINK TO 16 PICTURES WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS 185 students and 16 adults signed in as having walked or biked into school on Wednesday. The weather was fine for the event. Team Triumph had the most participants, with impressive turnouts from USA and Renaissance too. We even had nine PreK and kindergarten students walk to school. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined in or who supported the day. Our next Walking Wednesday is October 3rd and we plan to walk/bike every Wednesday in October.
