MOVE UP DAY
Parents and Families of 8th Graders

On Friday, May 24th, 2019, your eighth grader will be taking a bus to BFA for Move Up Day. This is an annual event to introduce eighth graders to the expectations associated with their upcoming ninth grade year. This is always an exciting day. BFA staff and students will be on hand to guide the eighth-grade students through the orientation program. Additionally, it is an opportunity to meet fellow eighth graders from the other sending schools.

Lunch will be provided by BFA. Your eighth-grader will be dismissed from BFA at 2:00 P.M. and will be walking home from there.  If you choose to do so, you may pick your child up at BFA at that time. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact your eighth-grade learning community or contact school counselor, Allison Goldsmith, at agoldsmith@maplerun.org or 527-0565 ext. 3874.

PICTURES AND REPORTS

CHICKS ARE HATCHING
In all the kindergarten classrooms there are chicks hatching on schedule. The children are very excited to see and play with the chicks in this phase of their embryology unit. On Wednesday students will get to gently handle the young chicks. At the end of the week, and once children have had their chance to connect with the chicks, they will head away from school to their farm home.

VOYAGERS - CURRENT WALKING PATH LEADERS
The Voyagers gathered on the front steps to be recognized for walking many-many laps already in the walking contest. Quite a few students in Voyagers and other communities are lacing the foot-shaped markers of their accomplishments onto their shoes. One foot means 10 laps done. Two feet means 25 laps have been completed (practically all the Voyagers now). Three feet means 50 laps have been covered.
