MOVE UP DAY
Parents and Families of 8th Graders
On Friday, May 24th, 2019, your eighth grader will be taking a bus to BFA for Move Up Day. This is an annual event to introduce eighth graders to the expectations associated with their upcoming ninth grade year. This is always an exciting day. BFA staff and students will be on hand to guide the eighth-grade students through the orientation program. Additionally, it is an opportunity to meet fellow eighth graders from the other sending schools.
Lunch will be provided by BFA. Your eighth-grader will be dismissed from BFA at 2:00 P.M. and will be walking home from there. If you choose to do so, you may pick your child up at BFA at that time. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact your eighth-grade learning community or contact school counselor, Allison Goldsmith, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 527-0565 ext. 3874.
PICTURES AND REPORTS
WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS
Once again Triumph had the largest turnout for Walking Wednesday. This result puts them in a commanding lead for winning the pool party with this walking contest option. Interestingly, the Voyagers put on the second strongest showing as they had hoped to overshadow Triumph on this day. Even with the extra effort, they were quite a bit behind Triumph.
Here is how the contest stands after the first three Walking Wednesdays. 5-22-2019. Triumph is solidly in the lead. We have one more Walking Wednesday to go in the contest.

STUDENTS PRESENTED AT CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE/DYNAMIC LANDSCAPES
On Tuesday, May 21st, Ms. Levine and Ms. Borst had the pleasure of presenting with four SACS students at Dynamic Landscape (Champlain College). They covered the makerspace program and technology and coding in the classroom. Dynamic Landscape is a conference focused on promoting the use of informational technology to transform Vermont education. Each year the conference has a different focus and theme and this years theme was all about empowering students. The four students who presented their work at St. Albans City School did a fantastic job talking about their learning and teaching experiences and wowed their audiences.
