EVENTS AND NOTICES

BIKE TO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY 6-12-2019
Although it won't be a supervised event, every student who owns a bicycle and feels safe enough riding to school on their own (with parent consent) or with a parent is encouraged to bike here. It would be great to beat our previous full bike rack record of 75 bicycles. The weather is expected to be spectacular this Wednesday and there will be slap bracelets for every biker.

image.pngAll registrations for this summer's peer leadership mini-camp are due Monday June 10! We have several spots left for current 6th and 7th-grade students. Because this camp conflicts with other camps, we will only hold SEED camp for two days, July 15 and 16. Please return registration forms to Jamilah Vogel.

* Humanities Campers will be able to sign up for BOTH camps!

* If any student is interested in this program but not able to register for camp, please talk to Ms. Jamilah to request an exception.

8th-GRADE Raffle Tickets
8th graders are selling raffle tickets for some great prizes (Grand Prize is 4 comfy seats at graduation), all money collected goes to their 8th-grade trip.  Ask an 8th grader if you would like to purchase some.  Winners will be drawn Monday, June 10th.  Thank you for your support.

PICTURES AND REPORTS

6TH GRADE BIKE TRIP 6-7-2019
The weather could not have been more perfect for a 22 mile round trip along the rail trail. Sixth graders and staff pedaled out to the Casino on Route 105. There was a tasty picnic, various games to play and lots of time to socialize. Some rode the school bus back to St. Albans City School while others pedaled all the way back. The annual 6th-grade bike trip is an important milestone for students at SACS. LINK TO 45 PICTURES

TEAM USA AT GEORGIA BEACH 6-7-2019
Team USA had a great day at Georgia Beach.  We were able to enjoy the sunny and warm weather.  We had the chance to swim, paddle, play basketball, volleyball, kickball, water games plus lots of other fun!  LINK TO MANY Team USA Georgia Beach pictures

8TH GRADERS ETHAN ALLEN BOAT RIDE 6-7-2019
Check out this LINK TO 90 PICTURES of the students enjoying their evening together.

TROUT
Team USA students released about 70 trout fingerlings into Mill River on Friday 6/7. We started with 100 eggs in January. We have enjoyed caring and learning about the trout in the USA classroom. We hope these young trout will be able to grow and thrive in their new home.  Link to pictures - Team USA Trout Release

COOKBOOK FOR TWO 8TH GRADERS
Ms. Williams made cookbooks with two eighth-grade girls in her life skills group based on the recipes of the items they made this year. She presented the books to them in the Family and Consumer Science Classroom. 6-10-2019
