PASTA TOWER CHALLENGE
In Ms. Aliquo's summer school classroom students and staff started the day with a challenge to build the tallest marshmallow holding tower possible. Everyone was limited to building a structure with 20 sticks of pasta, one meter of centimeter wide masking tape and one meter of ribbon. Everyone had 30 minutes to finish their work. See the variations in design and construction that were used by going to THIS LINK TO 24 PICTURES. It proved to be a hard but rewarding creative endeavor. 7-25-2019
NAVIGATORS KINDERCAMP
Each summer students moving up into kindergarten are acclimatized to the experience by attending a one-week kindergarten camp. This week it was the Navigators turn to host the newcomers to their learning spaces. The students were photographed working on art projects. 7-24-2019 LINK TO 24 PHOTOS
INVESTIGATORS SAILBOATS
Teachers helped students assemble some small foam sailboats. These were quickly floated either in a dishpan or in the handwashing sink. The students took turns blowing on the sails to get the boats to move. Activity options for students who had completed their boat work were coloring and playing with a sandpit type structure (that uses birdseed instead of sand) 7-25-2019
