HUMANITIES CAMP

Starting July 8th and going for 2 Weeks. The camp already has a full roster.

Here are some pictures from last year's camp which focused on the history of child labor in Vermont.

Here are some pictures of the students getting a sense of what life was like for Vermont children 50 to 100 years ago: Carrying bales of hay, washing clothes by hand, carrying water.

Here students are shown visiting the Winooski Woolen Mill on a field trip they took to learn about child laborers.

A big part of the humanities camp experience involves reading or being read to. Here Ms. Bashaw reads to her campers while they wait for transportation back to St. Albans City School.

EVENTS, PICTURES, AND REPORTS

PLANTS
It is the high-plant-growth time of year at St. Albans City School.  These photos came from the bus loop rain garden and from a few of the flower beds that surround the school.

WEEDING
Carolyn Pelkey is working hard to take flower beds, like the ones seen here, and clear them of weeds. She can be seen weeding in the early mornings before it gets blazing hot.
