HUMANITIES CAMP

Starting July 8th and going for 2 Weeks. The camp already has a full roster.
The camp happens Monday - Thursday. This year's theme is Survival.

Last year's camp focused on the history of child labor in Vermont.

Here are some pictures of the students getting a sense of what life was like for Vermont children 50 to 100 years ago: Carrying bales of hay, washing clothes by hand, carrying water.

Here students are shown visiting the Winooski Woolen Mill on a field trip they took to learn about child laborers.

A big part of the humanities camp experience involves reading or being read to. Here Ms. Bashaw reads to her campers while they wait for transportation back to St. Albans City School.

EVENTS, PICTURES, AND REPORTS

CLEANING
Over the course of a school year a lot of grime builds up in a school building and outside of it. Cory was photographed on Tuesday pressure washing the surfaces around the recess shed. This location tends to be a magnet for dirt, spilled drinks and trash. The area is looking much better now.  In the background of the second picture the new gaga pit can be seen. Gaga ball is a gentler version of dodge ball that can be played outside. 7-2-2019
